Sacraments

Weddings

Weddings

Celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony requires advanced planning and scheduling. St. Anthony of Padua Parish and the Archdiocese offer several methods of preparation based on the needs of each couple. Please contact the Parish Office at least six months in advance of the desired wedding date so that arrangements can be made. Please note that weddings are not held at St. Anthony’s during the Church seasons of Lent, Advent or Christmas.

We ask that you invite a Priest or Deacon of your choice to prepare you and to officiate at your wedding. Your priest/deacon will fill out all of the necessary paperwork and will assist you in planning your wedding ceremony in conjunction with the guidelines of the Catholic Church and the Diocese of St. Louis.

Please contact St. Anthony’s wedding coordinator Jeanine Tiemann at (314) 795-7227 or by email at staweddings@hotmail.com to get more information, schedule your wedding or check out the cost ($1,200 for non-parishioners).

Baptisms

Baptisms

Parents are asked to participate in a Baptismal Preparation class. Please contact the Parish office prior to the birth of your child to register.

Eucharist

Eucharist

The Eucharist is the sum and summary of our faith. Consult the mass schedule for specific times this sacrament is offered.

RCIA

RCIA

RCIA, or the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is the process by which adults enter into Christian life through Baptism or are received into the Catholic Church, if already baptized, through a profession of faith. The process is an extensive one and requires a commitment from the participants. A sponsor from the parish accompanies the person on this journey of faith, which usually culminates at the Easter Vigil. Please contact the Parish Office if you would like more information on joining. For more information about the RCIA process in general, please visit the RCIA website.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available 3:00pm Friday and Saturday in the Church.

Anointing of the sick

Please contact the Parish Office as soon as a parishioner is hospitalized or is seriously ill so that a priest may come to celebrate the sacrament. The sacrament is celebrated during Mass, in a communal setting once or twice during the year.
